The Details

The Teen2Chef program was developed using an iterative process. Focus groups were held with teens to discuss what nutrition topics they were most interested in learning about, the involved RDs used this information to help lead their curriculum.

The content was built utilizing resources from the 4 Children’s Hospitals involved and adapted for the Meant2Prevent program.

Teen2Chef was developed as a 10-week program, with suggested modifications for a 4 or 6-week course. Each week is broken down into 3 components:

  • Nutrition education
  • Nutrition based activity
  • Food skills development and cooking
