What is Branché Santé?
Branché Santé is an expansion of a healthy living program (MIAM) designed in 2008. It is led by Montreal Children’s Hospital and partners to help to fight childhood obesity in low-income communities in Montreal and surrounding areas through educational activities to building healthy habits.
Goals of the project
The goal of Branché Santé is to expand the current program to include some of BC’s Live 5-2-1-0 resources. Branché Santé will create new and helpful tools to grow the program through public health networks in Montreal, Quebec, and the rest of Canada.
Accomplishments and Milestones
- The project team in Montreal has completed a program guide in French and is now working on the English version.
- Once the guides are done they will be shared with community partners in the Greater Montreal area and they will also be added to the Meant2Prevent Resource Hub.
- Educational Recipe Card Food Sheets have been created showcasing in-season fruits and vegetables in both French and English.
Current Status
- The plans to deliver the program through workshops, retreats, and public consultations are on hold for now, and the team is exploring virtual options.
